Hello, my name is Adrián de la Fuente Ramírez

As a first-generation immigrant from Mexico, I'm deeply connected to the power of education and the importance of cultural understanding. I grew up right here in Berkeley, attending our local public schools and graduating from Berkeley High School in 2006. I've always loved this community and am thrilled to be giving back.

After high school, I pursued my passion for education. I earned a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies with a focus on Teacher Preparation from California State University East Bay (CSUEB) in 2021. Building on that, I completed my Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential in 2022 and a Master's degree in the Science of Education with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction in 2023. My graduate research explored the power of problem-solving and play in early childhood learning – something I'm eager to put into practice with your child!

Teaching is more than just a job for me; it's a calling. With experience instructing students from preschool to adults, I've had the opportunity to learn and grow alongside learners of all ages. My journey began when I was just 16, teaching swimming lessons for the City of Berkeley. I've since coached youth swim teams, adult swim groups, and even taught Spanish at several Bay Area schools, leveraging my bilingual skills to support students' language development. Additionally, I've worked at various after-school programs, gaining valuable experience in creating engaging and supportive learning environments for young children. I love helping others grow and learn, and I'm committed to creating a positive and supportive learning environment for your child.

I'm so happy to be starting this new adventure with you and your family!

Letter to my future class

Dear Students, Parents, and Family members,

My name is  Adrián de la Fuente  Ramirez,  but you can call me  Dela, for short. Here is a little about me:

From Mexico to the Bay

I was Born in Mexico, but I have lived in Berkeley California for most of my life.

I love animals

My pets are my dog Bruce, my Cat Tea, and my fish Fish'O.

Im outdoorsy

I grew up skateboarding and swimming on a swim team. Now I like to surf, boulder, and swim in the bay.

When the school day starts, I do not know who is entering through the classroom doors. The reality is that everyday students bring different gifts and challenges into the classroom. As an educator, I must recognize these differences and use my professional judgment to respond to students' everyday needs within my instruction. It is imperative for me to develop a strong relationship with every student while fostering a sense of a collective community within the whole classroom. I believe that together, we can celebrate our strengths, overcome our challenges, and develop our interests as we become lifelong learners and active members of our greater society.

I am looking forward in embarking in this educational journey with you all.
Sincerely yours,
Dela
